You Are The Hero

Hello everyone and welcome to a wet and grey North Yorkshire. Always then same when the kids are on holiday!!

Welcome to all my new followers of late and thanks you for joining me. I hope you will enjoy your visits here.

This card uses some of the new stamps I bought from the craft show at the weekend. They are from Artisitic Outpost and I just love all their vintage images.

I was desperate to ink up this little fella(Paperboy) and love the ledger background stamp. The inks are distress and the background has been crackle stamped and then put through an embossing folder.

The sentiment comes from the same set and the token embellishment is from Tim Holtz Ideology range.

This card is for the following challenges:
Artisitic Outpost May referral programme- Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly challenge - current sketch#79
Creative Inspirations challenge#216 - Anything Goes +option of buttons
Crafty Creations challenge#224 - Super hero
Simon says stamp challenge - Anything Goes
Make it Monday challenge #142- with StampArt

Thanks for visiting today and see you again soon

Man's Card

Hello everyone and hope we had a good bank holiday for those of us that had one.
We had a fabulous day yesterday at Harewood House(North Yorkshire) at a Medieval Fayre. Lots of costumes and re-inactments. It was something really different.

On Sunday I went to the Papercraft show in Lincoln and met up with some lovely people (Sarah, Abi and Jan) all from the blogs. It was so special to meet them all and had such a great time.

Excuse the photo with this one as that little patch of embossing powder wants to shine no matter where or how I take the photo!!!
(Edited ; I have re-taken the photo and hopefully it is not a s shiny now!!!)
This is from a Stampers Anonymous stamp set and  I have used my distress inks for colour.

This card is for the following challenges:

Family History

Hello everyone and here I am with my second post for today. Please scroll down to see my earlier post and the new Allsorts challenge for this week.

This is something a bit different from me today although vintage so still me I suppose!!
I really want to do some more scrapbooking but not being into too many patterned papers I was a bit unsure of where I wanted to go with this. I knew I still wanted to ink and stamp more on the background and had these Ranger size #12 Tags to use. So here is what I finished with.
A lot of stamping, masking and distress inks and a background was created. The photo is of my grandma and her father possibly in the 1930's. Just a few embellishments as I was reluctant to cover up the background too much.

I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday this week for layout to it.

I am really pleased with the way it has turned out and the style I have used.

I am entering this tag into the challenge:
Sketch Saturday challenge #259-with Bunny Zoe Crafts

Thanks for stopping by and visiting. Hope you all have a good weekend and see you soon

Sweet Stampin and CAS

Hello everyone and here's to the start of another weekend. This week felt a really short one due to the extra days holiday at the beginning.

This means we have a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin challenge and this weeks theme is ;
"Clean and Simple"
Please pop over here to see the fabulous inspiration from the Design Team and come along and join in with us all.

We are also being sponsored this week by:
who are kindly offering a prize.

and our monthly sponsor is:

I chose to use a flower from Creative Expressions. I stamped straight onto the card with the flower and then placed a spellbinders die around it and used my distress inks to colour inside. The rose was then coloured using Promarkers.

I admit to never having done this before and a bit nerve wrecking stamping and inking straight on to the card but I was so pleased with how it has turned out.

A nice sentiment for a simple but pleasing card I thought.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Moving Along With The Times challenge- CaS(Clean and Simple)
Totally Papercrafts challenge #166 - CAS

Thanks for stopping by today and see you again soon
