My Wellies...

hello and thanks for stopping by today.

So in my quest to start writing more in my journals and trying to include photographs this is a page I have completed where I have tried to include both of these.
it is the summer time starting here in the uk(well supposed to be haha)and for me that means music festivals !!
I go to quite a lot throughout the summer and here in the uk that also means muddy fields from rain!!
Essential part of the festival kit is your wellies.
This photo was taken as I entered into the field and I wanted to remember just how clean those wellies were before we started!!

Anyway the page...
Dina Wakley paints-Lime, Turquoise, Magenta, Night
Dina Wakley stencils-Big Leafy , essentials and  Tracks were used in the same colours as paints.
Dina Wakley stamps-scribbly alphabet.

I used a sketch layout from: http://scrapping-clearly.blogspot.co.uk/

Oh my word am I so excited to be sharing with you this post today!!!!!!

Today sees the announcement of a brand new Campaign from Dina Wakley at Ranger Ink where a brand new challenge is starting. The campaign challenge is all about putting the "ME" back in Mixed media.

The Campaign will involve a series of challenges which will offer you a prompt to encourage you to delve into your work and into your creative spirit.

Please pop over to the Ranger blog for all the details. You can go to  the blog from this link here:

You can also visit Dina Wakley's blog with this link for all the details:

If you are on Face Book and Instagram you will be able to find everything from the following:
#showusyourMedia

 #rangerink

 #dinawakleymedia

So you can imagine just how excited I was to be asked to join in with the first challenge and join such a talented bunch of Mixed Media artists in the Industry!!!!

For my project I am sharing with you why I create and what compels me to make art, I created a double page spread in my Dina Wakley Mixed Media Journal. Using DinaWakley acrylic paints(lemon, Tangerine, Turquoise, Ocean, Lime, Magenta, Fuchsia, Night) and Stencils(Organic Shapes, Tracks, Essentials) I created a background. My favourite part of creating is layering up the backgrounds and I will try to include as many layers as I can!! I added some textural elements for circles using one of the Burlap pages and concentrated on using the colour black to pop of the pages.
As I have found in my Journal pages I am very happy creating the most when my work is very random and I can express more from myself through this style.
So onto the first challenge prompt....

"Why do I create....."

Ok so why do I Create!.... Creating in my journal has become an everyday part of my life and I feel so much satisfaction from allowing myself the time to distance myself from the everyday goings on in my life and surround myself with some very personal and private space.

"I love my Journal because it is for me only and only me"

"It is a place where I can play and experiment when I want"

"I can express all my emotions and feelings in one place"

We would love for you to come and join in with this very special journey and find how you can put the "ME" into your Mixed Media projects.
Please visit the links above for all the information and be sure to visit all the talented artists who have joined this campaign for such fabulous inspiration for you all.

Thank you so much for visiting and see you again soon

Be Your Best...

Hello and thanks for stopping by here today.

I have been continuing with my cardboard art pieces again and recently purchased this new stencil from Tim Holtz. I purchased the smaller size stencil so that I would be able to use the continuing repeated hand image on one journal page.
I am loving the rhythm this stencil gives to the page and how well it blends with the words and numbers stenvils around it.
I have used Dina Wakley paints to brayer a background in grungy colours and used gesso through the words and numbers stencil.

More Mixed Media challenge..

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by here today.

We start with a new challenge today over at the Mixed Media and More challenge blog.

Our challenge for this month is ..Anything Goes with option of PURPLE

I have done a journal page in my Dina Wakley mixed media journal using one of the Watercolour pages.

I finally managed to purchase the Blackberry paint which I can tell you is just so Lush!!!!!!

Painted random background using Dina Wakley paints and a brayer and then lots of finger painting on top.
I like the use of a lot of layers and have incorporated a few stencils into the background.

Playing with the new Paper Dolls from Tim Holtz and added one in the corner. Love the contrast between all the colour and the sepia image.

We would love you to come over and join in with us this month and look at the fabulous DT inspiration.
