Journal 52- Week 17- RISE

Hello everyone and hope your all enjoying the weekend.

Unfortunately yesterday I took a little tumble down some steps!! I sprained my ankle and it is really swollen and sore but fortunately nothing is broken!! So i am nursing it just now. I did however have a good time last week in Leeds at the Noel Gallagher concert !

So onto Journal 52 and last weeks prompt was RISE with bonus points if you had a Phoenix somewhere on your page. 

Effy Wild showed a video of her page and this was my take on it. The colours are not what I would normally go for but it made a nice change and they have worked well together.

My Sacred Altar

Hello everyone and hope you are all enjoying the weekend.
Loads of apologies for not having been around much again lately but this was a busy time with the end of term at college from the Zombie show and I had to focus all my time on the assignments!!!
Anyhow relaxation time now for a bit and I have a bit of catching up to do with Life Book 2016.
This weeks lesson caught my attention and although it is not really in my comfort zone with all these darker colours I wanted to have a go.
As it happens I loved the lesson and enjoyed learning something new and different.
My Sacred Altar represent a landmark in my life now. returning back to college was a big step for me as a mature student but I am so glad I made that step and want to celebrate this milestone for me.

I will hopefully be getting round now to visiting you all and catching up on what I have missed !!

Wild Spirit

Hello everyone and well that's the end of another week and hope you all have some good plans for the weekend.

I have been playing in my journal and doing some collage for a change. I really liked this page and just love those wellies!!! 

As I sit here it is raining non stop outside so could just do woth a pair opf them right now!1

I love the way the orange letters on this page really pop out and there is something about those glasses being one circle and one square!!

Crazy Cats !!!!

Hello everyone and here's to the start of a new week!! Hope you all have some good plans for it.

So I have been playing again in my mini journal and just so had to have a play with these fabulous Crazy Cats from Stampers Anonymous- I just love them!!!!

I also love these cartoon sayings from them and I think they work well with these sets.

The background is all done using the distress crayons which I really like for mini journalling and give a great page coverage in not too much time.
I coloured the crazy cat with distress inks and markers.

I just love the humour you can build into a page with these stamps!!

Hello everyone and hope your all having a good weekend. 

I managed a little time in my craft room and little time means mini journaling !!!!

I am so impressed with the new distress crayons from Tim Holtz. they are just perfect for mini journal pages and they are great with stencils.

I used the wonderful Crazy bird stamp and of course if you are going to be awesome today then you have to dress the part !!!!

#friendsforlife-Crazy Birds

Hello everyone and hope your all having a good week so far.

Well it's official!!!! I am just so addicted to these Crazy Bird stamps from Tim Holtz Stamper's Anonymous. They are just so fabulous and great to stamp and colour in.

I have used the new Doily stamps from Tim Holtz as well on the background stamping and embossing in white. This meant that the embossing powder resisted the distress stain sprays I used in the background . I used the Fossilized Amber spray and also sprayed the white ribbon the same colour.  The hashtag quotes are also stamped from Stamper's Anonymous(Hashtags).

I coloured these crazy birds with Derwent Inktense pencils.

I really enjoyed this tag and it reminds me of a mossiac path which you would see in one of our many Stately Home Gardens here in the UK. I choose to use the papers from the Wall Flower paper stash set in my mossiac pieces.

Back and Craftathon 2016 !

Hello everyone and hope your all ok.
I am so sorry to have not visited much lately but the show involved a lot of time and commitment that weeks just flew by from me. Anyhow the show was a big success and everyone worked so hard. Packed audiences and 10/10 reviews !!! Really pleased with myself as I have only been studying this course for 7 months.

Now a lot of you have asked if I can post pics so remember this is Zombies and only make-up!!!!

And I have some news to share today which I am very excited about for me!! My name has appeared on the Tim Holtz blog for the tag I made in his challenge for March(a couple of posts down)

CRAFTATHON 2016

And as a reward for all my hard work over the last few weeks, I am heading of tomorrow for the weekend to spend some well earned craft time with a group of my online crafting friends in Grimsby. We hold a weekend every year for a get together and last year was my first time I was able to attend. I enjoyed it so much I was determined to go again this year and so looking forward to it.

Hopefully i will be able to show you some crafting again on here soon!!
