Show us your MEdia challenge 12- "Where have you been"

Hello everyone and here is a page I have created for the Dina Wakley challenge with Ranger.

I have worked in my smaller Dina Wakley mixed media journal and created this page about a personal journey I have been on rather than a travelling one as such!!

Dina Wakley paints- sedona, blackberry, cheddar, peacock, fuchsia, night
Dina Wakley stencils- Giant funky silhouettes, mini favourites, insects
Dina Wakley stamp quote- scribbly women

You can find all the details her on Dina Wakley's blog about how to enter and what the challenge is about. 'http://dinastamps.typepad.com/

It would be great if you joined in with everyone!!!

When you just want to play...

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by.

So for those moments when you just want to play...
Sometimes when i don't let myself overthink and just want to enjoy making art, I find it's enjoyable and a piece that i really like.
This was one of those moments and i just played without worrying about the end result. Using paints, stamps and stencils I just allowed the page to come together itself. Plenty of random doodling to finish it of!

Journalling and a Dina workshop!!!

Hello everybody and thanks for stopping by today.

So what have I been up to lately....

Well apart from studying hard and keeping up with University life I was so lucky last week to be able to take part in a 4 day workshop with the very talented Dina Wakley at Art From The Heart here in Harrogate.
It was just fabulous and so much to learn!!!!

I made some fabulous new friends from overseas and we all enjoyed a wonderful arty time together.
Crafty friends are the best aren't they!!!!!

So today I was keeping some of those new learnt techniques and allowed myself some quiet time in my journal.
Dina taught us about abstract flower painting and this really took to me as I am not a detailed artist and just like the page to flow as it evolves without worryung about any mistakes I have made and just prefer a more naturalistic approach.

Using Dina Wakley paints in the new large Dina journal I allowed this page to evolve and relax with the process.
I love how it has turned out and feel very happy with the result

Dina is such a talented artist and so kind in sharing her art experiences- here is the wonderful lady herself with me !!

Stop Thinking Just Create

Hello everyone and hope your all well. So here in the UK we have this big freeze at the moment and it just does not want to stop snowing!!!
So what better way to spend days indoor than playing in my journal !!

I have recently purchased the super size Dina Wakley Mixed Media journal and I can tell you it is big!! Lots of space on the pages and I quite like turning the journal on it's side and working landscape with it.

I have painted and scraped Dina Wakley paints onto the background and used Dina Wakley stamp set -Splatter Girl. I love this image and there is enough room on the page to stamp it more than once!!! So that's what I did Three times in a row!
I used the quote from the same stamp set and there are some background mark stamps in the set that work well to bring the page together.
Finishing the page of with the new Washi tape release also from Dina Wakley.

Thanks for stopping by today and see you again soon
