This project is a little different today. I often like to take other things and decorate them. This was a plain brown cardboard set of drawers I have painted the drawers with silver acrylic paint. When dry I used the sewing stamp set from Creative Expressions. This set has lovely images all things to do with sewing. I randomly stamped all over with them using a black ink pad.
The drawer handles uses one of the cotton reels stamp from the set. I stamped into air drying clay and wrapped some black thread around them. A little minature sewing machine has been placed on top and the draweres are filled with lace, ribbon and pices of fabric all wrapped around cardboard strips. For the feet of the drawers I have painted some empty cotton reels in the same silver acrylic paint and glued on to the bottom.

Walking In The Air
Todays card is a christmas card. I have used the snowman set of stamps from Crafter's Companion. the image has been coloured using Promarkers. I have stamped the image twice and decoupaged it to give dimension.
For the background piece, I have used a piece of acetate. I blotted alcohol inks onto the acetate and then spread some crystal lacquer on to it. Next was to press some tissue paper on and leave it to dry. The effect is very shiny and has a glass like effect and a great textural look to it.
I have die cut a circle which has been put through the cuttlebug with a snowflake embossing folder. A ribbon tied with some fibres has been added . I used a punch to punch out some vellum snowflakes and added sprinkles of glitter on to them. These have been placed around the image.

Autumn Tumble
This card uses another of my favourite stamps - House Mouse.
This stamp set is from Autumn - Leaves and is quite a detailed stamp. I hope you can see the three little mice tumbling inside the twigs. I have used Promarkers to colour the image.
The backing Papers are from Dovecraft(Funky Vintage).
I have used a spellbinders Die to make a border along the middle and another spellbinders die to cut some red leaves.
I have used the extra stamps on the sheet to colour and cut some little leaves and these I have cut out and placed them on the grass to add a scene of extra leaves falling. I have done the same with the bigger leaves and placed them on the bottom of the card to carry on the scene theme.
The sentiment is from Little Claires and fits in really well.

Snowflake
Another Christmas card today. I am slowly building them up. This card uses a favourite stamp image of mine from Sugar Nellie(Snowflake). I have coloured her in Promarkers and used some china blue distress ink. The image is stamped inside a frame which has been paper pierced around it.I love this technique as it adds a really nice subtle effect and adds a textural feel.
The backing papers are from my stash (i think Papermania?)but theme in really well with the different shades of blues. I have stamped some flowers and embossed them with a touch of colour using promarkers. They are from Creative Expressions (Ivy stamp set). A touch of red glitter in the middles and some punched out leaves all add to the soft touch.

Coffee Break
This weeks challenge over at Charisma Cardz is "negative Space". Now this is a bit of a challenge for me . Some people know when to stop and blank spaces need filling to me. So off I went. My card is for a friend to say thank you for being a good friend and we don't have coffee as much as we should, but she is always there and I think it's time to meet up again. The stamped image is from Lili of the Valley (coffee break) and I have coloured it with Promarkers. The other risk I took with this card was to stamp the greetings directly on to the card. Panic stage - please don't mess up. Phew it worked! -no mess. The main stamp sentiment is from my stash and the "friends always" is from a Joanna Sheen stamp set(Giordana set). I have added a ribbon and some flowers but the rest is as blank as I could leave it. I'm glad I had a go at this challenge and it's a nice way to meet up with my friend again.

Land Ahoy
This card uses one of the Lili of the Valley stamps - Land Ahoy. I love this one. I have used Promarkers to colour the image. The Backing Papers are from DCWV. These papers are so great and you can always find something to fit your card. I use these alot.
The little skull embellishments are from an Inkadinkado stamp set(Rock Star). I embossed the border stamp and cut each one out individually. The flourishes are Marianne dies but they reminded me of cutlasses and I think they fit this card well.
There is some black velevet ribbon which has been gathered. The sentiment is Peel offs(something I haven't used in a long time).
Promarkers used: blush, dusky pink, cinnamon, sandstone, caramel, poppy, ivory, satin, pastel beige, cool grey 1,2,3,4, powder blue, pastel blue.

You Rock
Today I made an easel card. I have used my favourite Sugar Nellie stamp - Goth Girl. This was the first one I bought from that range. I have used papers from DCWV and Trimcraft. The other stamp set which I have used is from Inkadinkado(Rock star). This is a great one for teenagers. I have stitched the papers onto the front of the card with my sewing machine and added some ribbon which I have gathered for a ruffled effect.
The inside of the easel has some cord which I have laced and some die cut buttons with thread. There are some stamped and embossed skull and crossbones along the bottom and some more cut out and placed around. The sentiment is from the rock star stamps and has some gems around it.
I have used promarkers to colour the image - blush, dusky pink, spice, pastel yellow, ruby, cool grey 1, 2, 4, and black. Areas have been highlighted with a silver gel pen.

Fairy Shoe Box
This is a project I wanted to share with you which is a bit different from making a card this time. This started as a cardboard book bought from a hobby store. I have painted it with some brown and Gold acrylic paint and when dry, rubbed over it with some black paint to give it a sort of distressed look.
I started to decorate the book with a front cover. This was made by brayering a piece of glossy cardstock with the big'n'juicy ink pad (spice). I then used a stamp(Creative Expressions) randomly and embossed with gold embossing powder.

I have taken another (Creative Expressions stamp - Ivy) and stamped it a few times. I coloured the ivy to match the cover with promarkers(Tan and Cardinal Red) and cut them into different layers. Each layer was built up on top to add dimension. The final touch was a metal lock embellishment from Tim Holtz and a little key hanging down.
This has been the perfect project to house another hobby of mine, which is embroidery. This is the reason why I choose to decorate this book this way. A magical book full of enchantment.
This is the inside of the book.

The Holly and The Ivy
Today I have another Christmas card. I'm trying to do a few at a time so it isn't a big rush at the end. Again I have tried to use some of my stash from my christmas box as I have collected a lot over the years, so I don't really remember whose backing papers they are.
The stamped image of the hedgehogs is from Penny Black called "carollng Hedgehogs".I have used promarkers to colour the image. The background stamp is from Personal Impressions and is a great stamp for a background piece. I stamped the text and embossed it to raise it up. After I used some distress inks to colour it.The layers under the text have been wet and curled so that when they dried it added to the distress look The card has been finished with some punched holly, ready die cut flowers and some leaves.
Promarkers used: sandstone, caramel, tan, dusky pink, leaf green, holly, cocktail pink, antique pink, pastel beige.

Flower Fairy Card
This is another card I have made using the Sweet Pea flower fairy stamp(from Crafter's Companion). The image has been stamped a few times, coloured with Promarkers and then layered up.I have put the stamped image onto a piece of pearl card which was put through the cuttlebug and embossed. The backing Papers are from Papermania(Henbury Lane set). One of the floral pieces is plain and the other piece is glittered. I have used the sentiment and the flower stamps on the same stamp sheet as the main image to make embellishments. I like to use these little images and make my own embellishments. They have also been layered up for dimension.
The banner strip at the top(above main image) is cut from a spellbinders die, with ribbon threaded through and glitter dots added. There are some more of the flower stamp embellishments on each corner of this . The ticket stamp is from Whimsey stamps.

Black and White
This card was another challenge this week for me. I admit it isn't two colours I would have used for christmas, however I wanted to give it a try. I am really pleased I did and thinks it works really well.

Autumn card
This week I decided to try something different and come out of my "comfort zone" a little.
This card has been made using no designer backing papers. That's a challenge for me.
For the background piece I have used a piece of glossy card and stamped over it using a versamark ink pad and a butterfly stamp from Creative Expressions(Wings). I then used the Big n Juicy ink pad(Spice) and brayered over the top to reveal the butterflies.
I have used a border punch from my stash to add at the top and bottom of the card.
The image is a Sarah Kay stamp(Garden's Needs) and has been coloured using Promarkers. I have added some flourishes using Marianne dies and a ribbon. The sentiment is from Little claires stamps.
Promarkers used; blush, dusky pink, satin, ivory, pastel beige, sandstone, caramel, tan, denim blue, cornflower, lime green, pastel yellow, cool grey 1 = 2 .
I am entering this card into the following challenges;
Cute Card Thursday challenge 176 - No designer Paper
The Pink Elephant challenge 111 - Butterfly
Crafty Cardmakers challenge#50 - Flutterbies
Thanks for visiting and hope you like it.

Sweet Pea Flower Fairy Card
I have had fun this week stamping with my flower fairy stamps from Crafter's Companion. Here is a card I have made using the Sweet Pea fairy. It's such a nice image. The backing papers are from Hot of the Press and Papermania. I have used some pearlescent card and embossed it through the cuttlebug with a butterflies folder, then a dusting over the top with some chalks. (not sure if the pic shows it that well)The image has been stamped a few times and decoupaged . I have used the flower stamp on the stamp sheet to add embellishments to the corner in the same way as the main image. The sentiment is from Papermania(sentiments set). The leaves are made using a punch from my stash.
I have used Promarkers to colour the images.
Promarkers used: blush, dusky pink, baby pink, pastel pink, cocktail pink, lilac, lavender, meadow green, pear green, henna, cocoa, terracotta.
I have added stickles glitter on the wings.

Wizard Boy Card
This card was made using one of my new Lili of the Valley stamps. I visited their stand at a recent papercrafts show and just loved the images and cards on display. This image is called Abracadabra and is a great image to work with. The backing papers I have used are from Papermania and DCWV. I have added some flourishes using a Spellbinders die. The die is called( floral flourishes), but I think they work really well as starbursts. The sentiment is from Little Claires stamp set (sentiments mixed). There is always something in these sets to fit all occassions and I am loving them. The image was coloured using Promarkers.
Promarkers used;warm grey 5, gold, blush, dusky pink, ivory, satin, pastel beige, sandstone, denim blue, cornflower, powder blue, plum, peach, bright orange, cool grey 1 + 2.
The wand was coloured using a silver gel pen and the stars and moons on his cloak with a gold gel pen. This just adds a biy of sparkle. Thankyou for visiting and hope you all have a good week.
