Index cards...

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by here today. Sorry it has been a while but returning back to college after the Easter Break and things are very busy with my Final Major Project underway!
Anyway must find some time to relax and what better way than spending an hour in the craft room!
I have been using up some of my painted backgrounds and playing around with some Index cards as they are nice and quick projects but so effective.
I have used Dina Wakley paints and the image is from Dina Wakley stamps. the large numbers are from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Number blocks which are really big and bold numbers to use and add a focal point.
I have also been playing with the new scribble sticks from Dina Wakley which are brilliant for adding that extra colour and blending in with the paint.
Here is another one I made:

playing with painted papers....

hello everyone and thanks for stopping by here today.

So this morning I decided to prepare myself a few painted papers so that I will have quick backgrounds for projects throughout this week as I am back at college and time is always limited to play!!!
I have used Dina Wakley and Dylusions paints for these and just randomly painted them with circles of course!
However I couldn't resist just playing with a bit from this this afternoon and made these very quick, simple but effective cards with them.

They are so handy to have in your stash for those occasions that just arise.

Easter cards..

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by here today.
These are a set of Easter Cards which I have made.
I started with a large painted piece of mixed media paper using Dina Wakley paints-Lemon, tangerine, Turquoise, ocean and Fuchsia.
I added some Dina Wakley stencils, mark making and a few paint splatters.
Then I cut the master board up to fit the size of the cards and matted black card around them.
I used Dina Wakley- Scribbly |Birds which I stamped onto some under papers and then used gel medium to adhere them to the cards. added a greeting from he same stamp set and a few doodles.

I would love to see these little birds hopping around my garden!!

Positive Women..

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by here today.

So since my workshop last week at Art From The Heart with the fabulous Dina Wakley I have been experimenting all week in the new DWM mixed media journal. if you manage to get yourself one of these you are going to have so much fun exploring all the different surfaces and there are evn fabric surfaces to play on.

Well this one is on one of the Kraft pages and it is a substantial quality Kraft too.
I started with gesso through DWM Big leafy stencil and then randomly added Lemon and Tangerine DWM paints adding a few more stencils with them-Fractured Circle and Jumbled letters.
The large circles are painted freehand and then Dina Wakley's stamped Positive Women inside them.
I chose to stitch with my sewing machine some strips of black card and frame these circles within the strips.
Ideology small talk words and a bit of doodling to finish the page .

Tweet Chirp...

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by.
A little tag making from me today and I have been using some new products which I have purchased.
First is the Dina Wakley paints in Tangerine, lemon and Fuschia. I stenciled the Dina wakley(Fractured Circle) onto the card first with Gesso and then painted over the top once dry. It really stands out well under the paints.
I added a stamped Dina Wakley Scribbly Birds set which has been coloured with some collage paper on top.

See you again soon and please scroll down for my earlier post today

Dylusions tags at More Mixed Media

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by here today.
We have a new challenge over at More Mixed media challenge blog and this time we are giving an option of Yellow to use.
Recently I have started to use more yellow in my work as my favourite colour is Orange and of course yellow works so well with it.

I have made two tags both at the same time using a positive and negative image from Dylusions Stencils -Jay.
Both tags were painted using Dylusions paints-Lemon Zest, Pure Sunshine and Squeezed Orange.
I used the same paints with other Dylusions stencils in the background and then used the black paint to make the stencil silhouettes images. I masked through the silhouettes stencil with a circle stencil to add more layers. Finished with doodling borders and doodling around the flowers.

We hope you will come along and join in with us this month with your mixed media works. It is always so good to see what you have been working on and check out the DT inspiration too!
