Art From the Heart workshop

Hello everyone and hope your all having a good weekend so far.

I have been lucky to attend a regular journalling workshop with Kate Crane. It has been such a wonderful relaxing day with great company.

Kate shared her inspiration with us on fabulous "painty" techniques and doodling. I just love the random backgrounds and sketchy flowers.

The quote represents me for this new year ahead and I just want to enjoy the journey and everything along the way rather than being in a rush to get wherever it is !!!!

I am lucky also to be going back tomorrow for another workshop so will share with you what I have done tomorrow

Thanks for stopping by and see you again soon

A card at last !!

Hello everyone and here's to the start of a new week ahead. Hope you all have some good plans for it.
I have a few days of before going back to college. I am working on a backstage pass production based on the line of Zombies. it's a great way to use all those special effects techniques with make-up and is really a lot of fun !!! Our show goes live to the public at the end of March so must keep working hard !!!!!

Anyway on to today. I need to make some cards this year as I failed so miserably last year. Since using my journal it is something I very rarely do now. So I thought I would try and combine the two together. I had fun making a Dylusions painted and stencilled background which I cut down to size and then used these fabulous Andy Skinner stencils on the top. I added a stamped quote to the speech bubble and a stamped border around the edge. I think it has turned out really well and at least I have made a start for my card box this year !!!

I will join in with the following challenges:

February calendar

Hello everyone and hope your all having a good weekend so far.

It's hard to believe that in just over one week we will be going into February already !!!

So I have got my calendar journal envelope ready for it. And as it's the month for "love" I thought I would do an "Angel of Love"

At christmas I was lucky to attend a workshop with Kate Crane and she showed us a christmas angel. I so loved doing the angel, that I decided to do this one for this. Now pinks are generally not my colour palette but I do like the way this has worked with it. I have recycled an old envelope and completed it with my journal insert for the month.
Quote:
"Love is in the air..." and you can merrily sing the rest if you want(lol)

I am going to enter this into:

Journal 52 - week 3

Hello everyone and I am here earlier than I thought I would be again this week!!
I have managed to complete my piece for this weeks Journal 52- Lyrics from a David Bowie Song.

I was so shocked when I heard the news as I have grown up with his music and this is one song which always makes me sing when his name is mentioned.

I have added the red shoes to my image and put the lyrics on the reverse side of the envelope.

You can find all the details of Journal 52 here:

Right I am of now to do some Zombie research for tomorrows class !!!

12 tags of 2016 - Tim Holtz

Hello everyone and hope your all having a good week so far !

I have managed to find some time to take part in the 12 tags of 2016 hosted on Tim Holtz's Blog. I have been doing these tags for a few years now and was keen to carry on.

So I didn't have a few of the supplies Tim used and looked in my stuff for a few alternatives but I am really pleased with the way it has turned out. I have used the two techniques which Tim shows us this month and you can find all the details on his blog here:

I am at ciollege for the next few days so probably be a little quiet here till the weekend.

We are starting a new project now which involves all the special effects make-up etc and showcasing our own exhibitions based on Zombies!!!! I am excited with this one as creativity is no obstacle for the exhibition !

Thanks for stopping by and see you later

Over at the Stampotique challenge blog today, the new challenge is all about "Colour Blobs". Well that certainly fits right up my street!!!! Love to blob the colour around my pages !!

I have used another of the mini envelopes and a painted background(with lots of colour blobbing going on!)
I have used the Foxy stamp from Kate Crane. he is just a great image to work with.

All the quotes are from Stampotique stamps:art mail (Barcode Text - France Papillon) and Welcome ...(My Reality - Arwen McCullen)

Journal 52 - week 2

Hello everyone and hope you have all had a good week and some good plans for the weekend ahead.
I returned back to college today after the christmas break and now getting ready for the next launch in the theatre life.

So today it was a little way to relax with the new prompt from this weeks Journal 52.
We are looking this week at what we are saying "Yes" to this year.

You can find all the details to this challenge here; Journal 52 blog

I have chosen to say "YES" to bee happy and keep being artistic. That sounds like a good plan to me!!!!!!

So A mini envelope covered with my own background print and this fabulous Mischief Circus image collaged on top. I think the background is so busy that there is just the break in it with the image and the words.

I have a weekend booked of workshops at Art From the Heart here in Harrogate so will be kept busy creating there !

Thanks for visiting and see you soon

Small Evidence

Hello everyone and hope your all ok.

So I am back with another mini envelope I have made. This one was covered with some scrap gelli print and then some collage added to it. Using my Dymo machine for my word of this year "Artist"
This is the back of it:
I have used some Chit Chat stickers from Tim Holtz on this side.
I also stamp now on the inside flap today's date:

These are fabulous for keeping little memories in or a little piece of journalling.

I am entering the challenge:
Try It On Tuesdays challenge - Letters and Numbers

Happy 2016 to you all

Hello everyone and welcome to my first post of 2016. I would like to wish you all a very happy new year and all the best !!!

So I had made a first- trying a project in a miniature style for a facebook group which I am part of called "Mini Marvels"
I have not joined in with anything of my own before so decided to have a go and see what I could make!
I have recycled an envelope cash wallet measuring 4 x 2 inches. I first gessoed it for some stability and then I painted everything on it and then decorated the reverse side as well. Used acrylic paints and Inktense pencils .

I love the idea that I can now keep any little memories inside this little wallet.

I am joining in with challenge:
